ROVAL SILVER Zinc Rich Compound is the designer’s choice because of its silver hue. 83% zinc in its dry film maintains high anti-corrosion performance compared with other normal paints. Suitable for repairing old galvanized materials or as a top coat for ROVAL. Finishes in a color similar to hot-dip galvanizing.

ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound ROVAL is a single pack, ready to use Galvanizing Paint, requiring no mixing with any oil/solvent or additional use of a primer or top coat. It’s easy to use and can be applied directly to steel and galvanized surfaces. ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound combines the convenience of painting with the excellent corrosion resistance of hot-dip galvanizing. ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound ROVAL is a true alternative to the conventional hot-dip galvanizing system. Since ZRC Galvanizing Compound ROVAL is simply applied at room temperature, it is referred to as a ‘Cold Galvanizing Compound.

In structural engineering, metals are the most demandable material due to their superior mechanical properties and ease of availability. However, sooner or later, metal constructed structures get damaged by environmental or chemical attacks, causing corrosion that deteriorates metals due to electrochemical reactions. This results in structural losses leading to direct or indirect losses of 5-10% of the Gross National Production system. The general way to protect metals from corrosion is by applying different protective coatings. During the past few years, new unique coatings have been developed called Cold Galvanizing Compounds (CGC/ZRC) using zinc (Zn) as a sacrificial pigment with polymeric binders. Anti-corrosion Paint and ROVAL

The difference in anti-corrosion mechanisms between ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound ROVAL and conventional paints is that Conventional paints protect steel by shielding it from water and air, but ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound ROVAL’s protection is based on an electrochemical reaction. A conventional paint film acts as a surface barrier to water and air. This is called “anti-corrosion by barrier protection”. But once the film is damaged or has deteriorated, rust develops in that area and begins to spread underneath the film. ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound ROVAL protects steel by the mechanism of electrochemical reaction, employing the self-sacrificing property of zinc. Simply put, keeping the iron and zinc in close contact, only the zinc side will rust and not the iron. Although water and air penetrate through the zinc particles to the steel surface, the electrochemical reaction of zinc prevents further development of rust. Even when a ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound ROVAL film is damaged, rust will not spread due to the presence of the surrounding zinc particles.
